HNLMS Pelikaan Visit
During September one of our staff members went to visit the HNLMS Pelikaan together with a colleague who works for the Ministry of foreign affairs. They attended the crossing from Den Helder to Willemstad Curaçao. During this trip the goals were awareness, action and reaction.
Awareness concerned discussing climate change and what the crew could do about it. Brainstorm sessions were organized to discuss ideas, perspectives and possible solutions. The second part action consisted of creating videos, watching videos and actively participating in the movement by approaching our two CO2 experts for questions or discussion. Finally, reaction by evaluating the three weeks and to see how they could continue as they had arrived in Willemstad.
The Pelikaan earned a lot of points! They came up with small ideas they could implement immediately, but also thought of the bigger picture. Where they gave advice for ship-building in the future to implement several ideas for a more ecological vessel. Curious about this trip?
